The theme for fifth Gala rounds of Indian Idol 3, telecast on SET Asia was Love. The contestants of Indian Idol 3 performed on slow and fast Romantic, love numbers. The show started with an opening number “Signal, Pyar Ka Signal”, all the contestants dances to this fast number. The tone of a romantic night is set with heart shaped balloons, misty smoke and bike rides on the stage. All the judges sang a line from their favourite song.

Emon sang “is pyar ko main kya naam doon..”, Amit performed on “pehla Nasha”, Parleen gave an outstanding performance with “Mere Khayalon Ki Mallika” and Abhishek was simply outstanding with his performance on “Roop Tera Mastana”. The girls also performed well, which matched the boys. Ankita performed on “Suraj Hua Madham”. SET Asia has done a sting operation on one of the Judges of Indian Idol ‘Annu Mallik’ who has made innumerable Romantic Melodies. A beautiful lady revealed the love story which Annu Mallik has been hiding all these years.

The Judges were concerned about the voting pattern and Annu Mallik was of the view that the deserving contestants are being voted out while those who could have rightfully gone are still continuing on the show Indian Idol. Indian Idol 3 the hugely popular musical competition telecast on SET Asia will have Actor Ritesh Deshmukh as its star guest on July 26, 2007. The fourth Gala Result episode of Indian Idol 3 started off with mini saying that ‘one of the top 10 contestants have a bad news’, after that she said that Puja’s grandmother was ill still she performed on the show. Puja’s visit to her grandmother’s house and a mandir near her house were she offered her prayer’s was shown.

Then Hussain asked the judges why is it difficult for the girl contestants to become the next Indian Idol, for that Annu answered that the people are voting against the girls and the women’s vote for their favourite male contestant’s. Javed said that in one saying in English, it is written that “for women to be as successful as men, they have to be three times better than men. Udit was of the view that the people are brilliant and will keep only those who sing well.

Lastly the result was announced and the person who had to go was Charu, she was shocked to hear this and asked Mini that is she joking, as the stage of Indian Idol meant a lot to her. The competition is getting tougher with each coming week on Indian Idol 3, the music talent show aired on SET Asia. The contestants have to prove themselves by singing both slow and fast numbers, as it would show their voice range. Puja kick-started the show with a superb performance followed by every other contestants. Ankita made Govinda to dance to her tunes. The show on Friday ended by showing the performance of the Indian Idol 3 contestants on ‘you are my love’ from the film Partner. The number of girls for the title of Indian Idol ‘Bharat Ki Shaan’ seems to be deteriorating with yet another girl being eliminated.

On the Indian Idol 3 episode telecast on July 19, the third roobaroo the contestants were shown complaining that they were always singing and don’t get to play games for that Mini tells them the format of a game. Abhishek was asked to pick one name who talks like basanti from the three options given and after seeing whom he would say haayee basanti. Deepali got the title. After that a lot of funny questions were asked to the contestants of Indian Idol 3.

Prashant got a lot of appreciation when he came in sepoy uniform and sang ‘Hum bolega toe bologe ki bolta hai’. Javed Akthar was to take special class for the contestant’s of SET Asia’s Indian Idol so as to improve their pronunciation. Next, clipping of Emon, Parleen and Deepali’s visit to the India Gate was shown. The contestant’s visit to Hyderabad and the performance that they showcased there was shown. While the Indian Idol 3 finalists were in Kolkata, Prashant took them to the Police Academy and they performed in the orchestra room.

A game was played with the contestants of Indian idol 3 in which whoever wins get to go out on a dinner with their favourite contestant, and the boys won the dinner with Deepali. Lastly the contestants were shown rehearsing with their trainee’s Atul and Ajay. SET Asia’s Indian Idol will feature Govinda on the fourth Gala round which will be telecast on July 20^th. Govinda will be shown offering his advice to the top ten contestants of the show Indian Idol 3 and he would encourage them in chasing their dream of becoming the next Indian Idol. The Star guest of Indian Idol 3, Govinda danced on Ankita’s song one song being “Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo Bijali Khadi Yahan Bijali Khadi”.

Last Saturday at first the recap of the previous episode was shown. The show Indian Idol 3 started with a bang and ended with thunderous applause for Amit Paul who outdid himself with his performance Yeh Pyaar Ka Nasha Hai… from the Aamir Khan starrer, Mann. Javed Akhtar was back on the show, he told that that Annu Mallik has all the rights to scold Emon as there was a great expectation from him. Next Mini asked other contestant about Emon’s over confidence for which Puja, Abhishek, Chang and Amit’s answered that he is not at all over confident.

A clipping was shown about what the audience thought about Annu’s remarks, all of them were of the view that Emon is one of the most talented participants in Indian Idol 3 and thought that Annu Mallik was wrong. Then came the result part Charu, Parleen and Smita were in the danger zone. Charu was declared safe. Judges were asked whom they thought should be out, for that three judges Annu Mallik, Alisha Chenoy and Javed Akhtar thought that Parleen must be out. Udit Narayan thought that it should be Smita.

The Celebrity Shabana Azmi judged the contestant in the absence of Javed Akhtar on the 3^rd gala round of Indian Idol 3. Shabana pointed out the faults of the contestants as she has a keen sense of music. In the second episode of Roobaroo the contestants had a surprise visitor. The contestants were dancing and singing as usual and Parleen and Ankita were performing on the song ‘Awaaz de Kahaan Hai’ in the middle of all the fun the first Indian Idol Abijeet Sawant made a visit to the sets. Abhijeet’s new Album Ladakh was premiered on Roobaroo. Abhijeet pointed to Amit and told him that “You are progressing in the same pattern that I did, so work hard you just might be the next Indian Idol”.

SET Asia’s Indian Idol gala round takes the viewer’s on an emotional journey of young aspirants waiting to realize their dreams. The third season of Indian Idol promises to be nail biting right to the final. SET Asia has given audiences the honour of selecting that “one voice” who will become the pride of the nation.

On Roobaroo special telecast on Thursday Mini mentioned about Richa’s exit and the contestants were asked about their feelings for Richa. Prashant and Amit were asked to sing the song ‘Yeh Dosti’ first in Hindi and then in English as they have become best friends like Jay and Veeru of Sholay. Then an award function was shown in which the Ganga Jamna Saraswati Award was given to Smita and the Natak Baaz Puraskar was awarded to Abhishek. Mini gave a tissue paper roll to Smita as award. After that the performance of Charu, Deepali and Ankita that they gave when they were in Lucknow was shown and then their visit to the Radio city was shown. Lastly the contestants were shown rehearsing for the galas.

Milan Singh along with his parents was invited to be a guest on the show Indian Idol telecast on SET Asia which was a dream come true for Milan. Milan Thakur, the eldest son of a family fled to Mumbai from Bengusarai near Patna to be a part of Indian idol. He confessed that “I love music and singing and wanted to take part in Indian Idol that is why I did what I did”.  The boy took forty thousand rupees from his home and came to Mumbai with his two friends, a man who befriended them on the train to Mumbai helped them to get rooms in a city hotel for Rs 400/day. They roamed the streets and even slept at railway platforms when the money got over. The point to be noted is that running away from home does not always end in a musical journey, as all are not as lucky as Milan.

All the contestants performed well on the performance round. On Saturday night the show Indian Idol 3 started with presenting a family who came from Pakistan to meet the Indian Idol 3 participants, they wished the contestants and invited them to Pakistan. Then the contestants sang the Roobaroo 4 theme. Then Smita entered the stage with a complete makeover which suited her very well. The judges were asked to take the name of one contestant and all the three judges except Javed Akhtar who was absent took the name of Jolly. Then the contestants were asked to vote out one name and most of the people voted against smita. The hosts announced the names of the persons who were in the bottom four, they were Emon, Deepali, Smita and Jolly. The judges were shocked to see Emon and deepali in the bottom four. Jolly Das was the unlucky one who got eliminated in the second galas. At first jolly took it sportingly and she sang the song ‘Gazab Ka Hain Din’ towards the end of the song she broke down to tears and all the other contestants of Indian Idol 3 were shown consoling her.
